C’est le grand jour!! lancement «officiel» de ce site, n’ayons pas peur des mots!!

Il y aura certainement encore de nombreux «grands jours», le 1er concert, le 2é...le 5é...le 10é...le dernier...et j’en oublie!

Mais quand même, là, aujourd’hui, je prends une grande inspiration (en espérant la trouver) et je me lance, pour vous compter cette folle expédition à travers l’univers de DM...

This is the big day!! The official launching of this website, let's not be afraid to say it!

There will probably a lot of other "big days", the first show, the 2nd...5th...10th... the last... and I'm probably forgetting many others!

But well, here, today, I'm taking a deep breath (hoping to find it) and I'm taking the big plunge to make an account to you of this incredible expedition accross the universe of DM...

Nous sommes donc le 6 avril 2009, et dans un mois, je serai dans la charmante petite ville luxembourgeoise de Esch sur Alzette, attendant patiemment l’entrée en scène de mes héros.

We are April 6th and in one month I will be in the charming little town of Esch sur Alzette in Luxemburg, waiting patiently for the first stage appearance of my heroes.

Cela mettra fin à de nombreux mois d’attente, depuis en fait l’annonce de l’entrée en studio du groupe.

Tous ces mois jalonnés d’annonces, des vraies, des fausses, qui font monter le stress dans le coeur et l’esprit du fan que je suis.

Une attente récompensée aussi aujourd’hui par la sortie du premier single, «Wrong», et dans quelques jours, dans deux petites semaines, la sortie de «SOTU»: SOUNDS OF THE UNIVERSE.

It will put an end to long months of wait, well since the announcement of the entrance of the group in the studio in fact.

All these months rythmed with announcements, some true, some false, which have contributed to make stress build up in the heart and mind of the fan that I am.

A wait rewarded today by the release of the first single "wrong", and in a few days, two little weeks, the release of "SOTU": Sounds of the Universe.

C’est ici, dans ces pages, que je déverserai mes dernières gouttes d’angoisse, jusqu'à ce fameux mercredi 6 mai...

Il est déjà prévu que je m’y rende la veille, histoire d’être frais et dispo, et de sentir au plus près les premières pulsations de la tournée...

Et ce sera l’occasion de vous présenter Ombline, amie fan avec qui je ferai quelques dates, et dont vous entendrez évidemment parler!

Et je parlerai peut-être aussi de vous, ou de vous, au gré des discussions d’avant ou d’après concert!

I will, right here, in these pages, let my last drops of anguish flow, until this long awaited wednesday may 6th.

I have already planned to go there the day before, in order to be in the best shape, and be able to feel from the closest place, the first pulsations of this tour.

And it will also be an occasion for me to present Ombline to you, a fan and a friend who will share a few dates with me. You will of course hear about her!

I will also talk about you, and you, along the way, the talks, before and after the shows.

C’est dingue, même pas un peu de repos en ce dimanche de Pâques pour mon esprit modien. Vous allez rire, cette nuit j’ai rêvé que j’attendais mon train, pour partir dans je ne sais quelle ville de la tournée.

Figurez vous que je n’ai rien trouvé de mieux que de monter  en catastrophe dans le train, en prenant soin de bien laisser ma valise dans la gare, avec tous les billets à l’intérieur.

C’est grave Docteur?...

J’ai participé hier au «lancement officiel» du nouvel album, «Sounds Of The Universe», dans les locaux d’EMI Music France...

Remerciement au passage à «krevet»! Ah, la solidarité entre fans...

J’ai un peu l’impression d’avoir fait le lancement de ma tournée!! Oui, on fait la queue dehors pour écouter DM!! Ca compte!!!!

Une fois à l'intérieur, boissons à volonté (soft et bière), petits fours à volonté (surtout pour ceux qui étaient entrés les premiers), puis écoute, projection d’un making of de l’album, qui nous aura souvent fait beaucoup rire, aaahhh, ils sont trop drôles....

La déception (à part bien sûr la non présence du groupe ou d’un des membres «ouais fallait pas rêver mon gars»), est que je n’ai rien gagné à la tombola, pourquoi, diable!, le 619 n’a-t-il pas été tiré?...jamais sans doute je ne me l’expliquerai...

La prochaine «cérémonie» sera donc au Rockal d’Esh...

D’ici là , il y aura la mutli-pluri-écoute de SOTU, le calendrier sera surveillé («Quoi??!! C’est pas encore l’heure d’aller gare de l’est??!!!), la tension va monter, les pronostics sur la set-list iront bon train...

Jour de sortie de «Sounds Of The Universe», j’ai passé aujourd’hui ma  1ère étoile du «parfait petit groupie en chasse», avec comme exercice pratique une simulation de l’attente désespérée du Gahan devant une station de radio.

Je ne citerai évidemment pas le nom de cette radio, dont une émission promettait la présence du groupe, sans cependant préciser qu’il s’agirait d’un enregistrement dans un hôtel....

Trois autres fans, et moi-même donc, eurent tout loisir d’admirer les «people» (aren’t  people anymore pour certains) défilant les uns après les autres pour parler de ce qu’il reste d’eux sur les ondes.

Mais de Dave Gahan, point.

Après plus de deux heures d’espoirs déçus, nous nous séparions donc avec la promesse de nous revoir lors d’un prochain concert, avec , souhaitons le, la réelle présence de Dave et de ses amis.

Je compense cette déception en réservant mon 19é billet pour la tournée, je rendrai visite à nos voisins suisses à Genève le 10 novembre...

Release day of "sounds of the Universe". today I passed the first degree of "perfect little male groupie hot on a trail"with success, with, as a practical test, a simulation of a desperate wait of the Gahan specimen in front of a radio station.

I will, of course, not reveal the name of this radio, which one of the shows was promissing the presence of of the group without actually mentioning that it would be in fact a recording in a hotel...

Three other fans and myself shared the advantage of admiring the "people" (has been people for some of them) coming and going one after the other to speak about what remained of them on the air.

But Dave Gahan...there was none...

After more than two hours of deceived hopes, we parted making the promise to see each other again on the occasion of a future show, wishing for the presence of Dave and his friends.

This dissapointement was compensated by the purchase of my 19th ticket for the tour, I will visit our Swiss neighbors in Geneva on november 10th..

Yesterday I attended the release party for the new album "Sounds of the Universe" at EMI.

I got the feeling that it was the launching of my tour!! Yes, we queued outside to listen to DM!! That counts!!!

Once we were in, threre were free drinks (softs and beers) and free food (especially for those who got in first) then we listened to the album, we were also shown a film about the making of of the album, which made us laugh quite often, ahahaha, they are so funny....

I was a bit dissapointed (well, except the fact that no member of the group was here "dream on boy, dream on" ) because I didn't win anything at the raffle, why on earth???? Number 619 never came up...why???? .... I will probably never find out about that...

The next "celebration" will take place at the Rockal in Esh...

SInce then, I will listen to SOTU a huge number of times, watch the calendar carefully ("What, it's not time to go to the "gare de l'est" train station yet???") tension will build up, and we will discuss the setlist again and again...

It's crazy, My "Mode spirit" didn't even get a bit of rest on this Easter sunday. You're going to laugh, tonight I dreamt that I was waiting for my train, to go to whatever town on my tour.

Well, I rushed into the train at the last minute, forgot my suitcase somewhere in the station with all the tickets inside.

Is this case serious Doctor???.....

C’est avec beaucoup de joie, d’impatience, et de trac que je vous écris les dernières lignes de cette partie «Waiting for Luxembourg»... Le prochain chapitre sera en effet publié jeudi, à mon retour du Luxembourg, pour les premières impressions, les premières images, les premières rencontres, les premières émotions de cette tournée...

Je serai à Esch sur Alzette dès mardi soir, et devant la Rockhal mercredi, dans la matinée sans doute!! En compagnie d’Ombline, avec qui je partage donc cette première date, et n’hésitez pas à venir faire un petit bonjour pour patienter ensemble!

J’en profite, avant de m’aventurer pour ces 20 dates réservées à ce jour, pour faire les remerciements d’usage:

à Florence, mon amie, pour son soutien, sa patience... à Xavier, mon frangin, pour son soutien technique...à mes parents (vous savez pourquoi sans doute!)... à Magali (pour ses traductions)... à Ombline, pour partager depuis quelques mois ce bonheur que d’être fan, à Pascal (pour sa patience, et sa compréhension, si si, je sais que tu comprends), et merci à tous ceux qui me permettent d’entamer ce rêve...

Ah, si certains d’entre vous connaissent un PDG de compagnie aérienne, ou d’une chaîne hôtelière, merci de leur laisser mes coordonnées, je serais ravi de les remercier également pour leur aide!

Et maintenant, que le spectacle commence!!! «Let me take you on a trip....»

I'm writing these last lines to you in the "waiting for Luxemburg" section with a feeling of joy, impatience and a butterfly in my stomach.... The next chapter will be indeed published on thursday when I return from Luxemburg and include my first impressions, the first pictures, the first encounters, the first emotions from this tour...

I will be at Esch sur Alzette as early as tuesday evening, and in front of the rockhall on wednesday, early in the morning probably!! I will be acompanied by Ombline who I am going to share this first date with: don't hesitate to say "hi" to us and share the wait together!

I'm taking advantage of this moment, before jumping into this big adventure and the 20 dates I have already booked so far to send my thanks to: Florence, my girlfriend, for her support, her patience....to Xavier, my brother, for his technical support....my parents (you probably know why!!!).... Magali (for her translations...hihihihi!!!!! ;) Ombline, for sharing the happiness of being a fan with me in the past months, Pascal (for his patience and understanding, I know you can understand, yes!) and thanks to all those who are contributing in making this dream come true...

Ah, if any of you know the CEO of an airline company, a hotel chain, thanks to drop my number to them, I'll be more than glad to be able to thank them for their help too!!
